The cast was a cross section of the current population, unlike in the original. The characterization and acting were excellent,
I really enjoyed the episode and am looking foward to the rest of the series.

Waited thirty odd years for the return of one of the best and most thought provoking series every made. Over those years I have thought many times about how I would go about surviving. And over the years I formed very definite ideas on the subject. I am pleased to say when I sat down with my two adult sons to watch the new series it provoked just as much discussion as it had with my dad and I when we watched the original. So far as I remember the story is following the same plot as the original. With the exception of Max Beesly,s character.Looking forward to the next installment and a lively discussion with the boys.

Looking at the postings on other forums there seems aome opinion that the BBC has gone quite the other way with regards the casting of ethnic minorities. Now the original series seemed top heavy with white middle class characters IN THE MAIN ROLES would be my only reservation on that one.
