I well remember watching the first series way way back in the early 1970s (wasn’t it??)I was terrified then and with the present outbreak of ‘whatever’ ‘flu – whether by default or design I was immediately reminded of this series. One has to admit that at the time of it being made (the ’70s version)it was far far ahead of its time.

Now, there are numberous ‘designer’ viruses out there – ready to be unleashed upon an unsuspecting world canvas……..ready for the painting of as it were.

Spine chilling – to say the least.

I haven’t watched (because I didn’t hear / know of the later chapeters in the series) but I must send for videos of whole series – although I may still be too scared to watch them as it all seems to be becoming true!

      Hi Phillipa

Yes, the first series of the original Survivors was broadcast in 1975; with the subsequent two series screening in 1976 and 1977.

You can find out much, much more about the original series at Survivors: A World Away
