Survivors series one secures BBC HD repeat – July-August 2010

Posted by Rich Cross on August 7, 2010

Series one of Survivors secured a low-key late-night repeat on the BBC HD Channel in late July and early August 2010.

The ninety-minute first episode was shown at 00:30 on Tuesday 27 July 2010, with episodes two to five then being shown at 01:00 between Wednesday 28 July and Saturday 31 Juy 2010. The repeat run concluded with a showing of episode six at 01:00 on Tuesday August 3 2010.

The series one repeat meant that all six episodes were available for seven days following transmission on the BBC iPlayer service.

There is no indication as yet as to whether the BBC HD channel plan to repeat broadcast Survivors‘ second series.

You’re right, the very least we can ask for is a full length novel by Hodges himself about the continuing exploits of this great group of characters but would the BBC give him the go-ahead to write it!

OK, so it seems unlikely that the BBC will relent. So please, please, please Adrian Hodges (principal writer) could you write a novel that resolves the the cliff-hanger – you must of had some ideas of where it was going – pleaaaaaaaaaase!!!!!!!.

I have all of this great series on DVD as will most of it’s avid fans so I see no point in re-runs. Series 1 and 2 of Survivors adds up to only 12 episodes and then it is cancelled. I’ll never forgive the BBC for that. Most of the American shows, even if they flop, would run at least 22 episodes per season. The BBC do good drama but they just don’t do enough of it, that is the whole problem.
